Please note the following change to Saturdays at Uraidla Family Practice:
In order for our small group of dedicated GPs to have a healthy work/life balance the difficult decision has been made to close the practice on Saturday mornings from January 2024.
We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience to our community and offer the following suggestions if you need a doctor before Monday:
- Life threatening illness or injury always call 000
- 13SICK National Home Doctor call 137 425
- Total Urgent Care walk in clinic – Norwood – call 7095 3435
- Present at your nearest emergency room if urgent
- For children – Child and Adolescent Virtual Urgent Care – run by the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and accessed via the internet
- For urgent mental health assistance: Urgent Mental Health Care Centre 215 Grenfell Street Adelaide – call 8448 9100
This is in no way a permanent decision and may change in the future.
New Patients
We welcome new patients to our busy family practice. If you are new to our practice it is important that you let the receptionist know as we need to allocate extra time for your appointment.
As this extra time is allocated for your initial appointment non attendance without due notice will incur a fee.
Fees (Changes to apply in July 2023)
Pensioner Concession, Health-Care Card holders & children under 16 years of age are bulk-billed during the week. Telehealth consults are privately billed and calls are forwarded to the reception desk following the consult to process payment over the phone.
Private patients are to pay on the day of the visit.
We accept credit cards and EFTPOS to facilitate this.
Our Tyro facility permits instant refund from Medicare into your savings or cheque account.
A list of commonly used fees is available at the reception desk.
Please bring your current Medicare Card and concession cards with you each time you visit.
*Please be aware there may be an extra non-rebateable amount to pay if your consultation involves additional treatment or a procedure.
Recalls and Reminders
We offer patients a recall service via HotDoc which enables us to remind you of visits for a variety of problems or routine investigations eg cervical screening or cholesterol checks. If you do not wish to be included in this system or if you have a specific recall request, please let the doctor know.
You will also receive an appointment reminder text from HotDoc, 24 hours prior to your appointment if you have provided us with your mobile phone number.
We are now using HotDoc to send messages to our patients when results have been reviewed by their doctor and are marked as NO ACTION, this brings peace of mind to patients who may be waiting on their results.
Confidentiality
All records in the practice are treated as strictly confidential.
The patient’s written consent will be required for transfer of information.
Prescriptions and Referrals
Our doctors are serious about patient care and safety. All repeat prescriptions and referrals will require a consultation.
